Clerk | You can go by bus, or take a taxi, or you can walk. |
Customer | How far is it? |
Clerk | About 3 kilometres. |
Customer | Thank you. I'll go by taxi. |
Situational Dialogue 2
Customer | I want to go to Winchester. How can I get there? |
Clerk | You can go by bus. There's a bus every 20 minutes. |
Customer | Can I go by train? |
Clerk | Yes, it's faster by train. There are three trains to Winchester every hour. |
Harry | Hello, Jim. |
Jim | Yes? |
Harry | It's Harry. I'm at the airport. |
Jim | Sorry, I can't meet you. You can get to my house by taxi. |
Harry | All right. I' 11 take a taxi. |
Situational Dialogue 3
Woman | Excuse me. Can you help me? |
Man | Yes. |
Woman | Can you tell me the way to Burton Road, please? |
Man | Drive along this street for about a kilometre. Then turn left into Cedar Avenue and Burton Road is 200 metres on the right. |
Woman | Thank you very much. We go along here for about a kilometre. Then we turn left into Cedar Avenue, and after 200 metres we get to Burton Road, on the right. |
Woman | Excuse me. Is Burton Road near here? |
Man | Yes, it's very near, but you're going the wrong way. You'll have to turn round and go back that way. Take the first turning on the right, then the second left. |
Woman | Thank you. |
Man | How do we get to the Olding Cinema? |
Woman | It's not for from here. It's first on the right in Weldon Street. But we have to turn left at the end of this road. Look at the sign. |
